FUNCTIONS & MINORS AT THE BRIDGE The Bridge Hotel, including the Bistro and Beer Garden area, is a licensed premises and as such is controlled by the Liquor Act and other Acts dealing with alcohol. Accordingly, certain areas of The Bridge are out of bounds to minors (under 18 years old) with other areas where minors are allowed as long as they are in the full time company of a responsible adult. The Bistro and Beer Garden areas are two areas within The Bridge where minors are allowed under the supervision of a responsible adult. The Bridge’s Bistro and Covered Beer Garden area are both available for functions. Depending on the size of the function the whole of the areas or part of the areas can be cordoned off for your particular function. Tables and seating can be arranged to suit your particular requirements. We offer a number of meal menus ranging from our Bistro’s Black Board including daily Chef’s specials, Bar B Que and finger food catering. All of these menus can be found under The Kitchen heading on this web page. If you have special requirements which are not covered by the menus then please contact us to see if we can work something out. At The Bridge we encourage family functions and strive to make your stay with us as pleasant and friendly as possible within the legal framework which covers our industry; Responsible Service of Alcohol; Responsible Conduct of Gambling. One of the most important issues to understand is that minors are not allowed to consume alcohol on licensed premises as fines can be levied on all parties involved: the person supplying the alcohol; the person drinking the alcohol as well as the licensee for allowing this to occur on licensed premises. In our effort to ensure that this does not occur at The Bridge we will strictly police the premises to ensure all minors are in the immediate company of a responsible adult and if not they will be asked to leave. On special event nights e.g DJ nights we have placed a 9.30 pm time limit when ALL minors must be off our premises including the car park. For your information The Liquor Regulations of 1996 define a responsible adult. For the purposes of the definition of responsible adult in section 4 (1) of the Act, a person who is of or above the age of 18 years and who, in relation to a minor, belongs to one or more of the following classes of persons is, in relation to the minor, a responsible adult for the purposes of the Act: (a)a parent, step-parent or guardian of the minor, (b)the minor’s spouse or any person who, although not legally married to the minor, ordinarily lives with the minor as the minor’s spouse on a permanent and domestic basis,
We believe that The Bridge has a lot to offer people wishing to hold a function within a licensed premises in accordance with the Liquor Act. If you have any questions which are not fully addressed here then please calls us so that we can discuss them.
